So way back when, I installed IM+ on the Palm Treo. Its a messaging app that allows you to IM your friends across several Platforms. The colors kind of got on my nerves as there was a lot of pink used . . . The sounds also about drove me crazy. Also, about 45 minutes after I launched it, I was garranteed a soft reset! Well, a while back, I got word that Shape Services, the company that makes IM+, had released a new version for the Palm OS. I went and downloaded it! What a difference! This is now a rock solid app and they have done a great job of addressing my peeves of the previous version.
What makes IM+ so appealing is that you can monitor all the popular IM programs at the same time. Specifically: - AOL
- MSN
- Yahoo
- Googletalk
- ICQ
- Myspace
- Jabber
You can do about anything from your Treo that you can do from your computer that involves Text! They also have added some sound options, and changed the whole look of the layout! Its a huge improvement in my opinion . . .
I have found this app reliable and fun! Its a great way to stay in touch when I am somewhere and have the time. Another advantage of IM+ is that it has the ability to run in the background so you can launch it and if someone sees you online, it sounds and pulls up a preview window of the message.
If your looking for a a messaging solution, then please check out IM+! If you used a former incarnation of IM+, and got disgusted, as I think many did, you might want to give it another try! I have been using this new version for a few months now on my Treo 680 and its been a very solid and dependable app! I will leave you with a few more screen shots . . .
