Before you do a Hard Reset, back up the info on your device. A Hard Reset will erase everything on your device, all data will be removed. All preferences and formats and all other settings will revert to factory settings. Be sure all of your third party applications are backed up as well.
  1. Hold down the Power button on your device. (On the Treo 600, use the one on top, next to the antenna.)
  2. While holding down the power button, use your stylus to push the Reset Button on the back of your device.
  3. When you see the "Palm Powered" screen appear, you can release the Power button.
  4. A screen will appear asking if you want to Erase All Data. Press UP for yes (Hard Reset). Pressing any other button will perform a Soft Reset.
  5. Your Treo will lead you through a recalibration. Once that is done, you can reload your backed-up information and applications

I am looking for help with my new treo 600 purchased on Ebay for my son.

I set it up and checked it out for a couple days and repacked for Christmas gift.

Upon opening, the tap screen will not work.
The stylus will not recalibrate on a hard reset or on pref.

I had installed Graffiti anywhere and think that might be the problem. When I reinstall GA thinking it might be able to correct the prob. I cannot touch the screen to enable GA.

Help if you can.
Battery Disconnect

The only thing I can recommend for a 600, is the battery disconnect reset. This should totally erase anything you have installed and return the unit to a factory fresh install. If this doesn't work, I have no further advice for you other than to contact the ebay seller.

Battery Disconnect Reset
Treo 600 only

A battery disconnect reset is a last resort step you can take to cut battery power, wipe all data, and regress a Treo 600 to its factory-fresh state. It only works on a Treo 600 smartphone.

Important:
A battery disconnect reset will erase everything on your smartphone, and also reset the wireless radio and disconnect the internal battery. All your data will be removed, and your formats, preferences and other settings are restored to their factory default settings. Don't perform a battery disconnect reset unless you've backed up your data, or you're willing to lose everything.

You won't be able to turn your Treo 600 back on until you connect it to a power adapter, so do not perform this type of reset without your Treo 600 charger and a power source.

HotSync note: Some third-party applications change the way your handheld backs up data. Other third-party applications do not back up data. If you have third-party software on your device, please contact the developer to learn what components are backed up during a HotSync operation, and if HotSync conduits are altered. Any data not backed up will be lost.

To perform a battery disconnect reset:

1. Disconnect your Treo 600 from the AC charger.
2. Hold down the K and Backspace keys simultaneously.
3. While continuing to hold down the K and Backspace keys, press the e RESET button inside the hole on the back panel of your device (where's the reset hole?).
4. Finding it hard to do? Good. We made this type of reset very awkward to perform, so that it would not happen by accident when y...

Thanks for the info. I did the reset. not too difficult, but the stylus/screen recalibration still will not work. I have contacted the company, they will reply after Jan 2.

I'll let you know what they say.
Thanks

Sorry for the inconvenience. You might want to ask a friend to lend a hand if you find it too difficult to do by yourself.
5. Continue holding down K and Backspace. The screen will flash white briefly, and then go black. Release K and Backspace after this happens. Your Treo will appear to be "dead" and the screen will not turn on. If you see any activity
