You know, for years it made headlines!  Time would look back over the previous year and pick a "person" of the year.  These persons have been known for many different things!  Political figures have probably been the most prominent!  But that hasn't always been the case.  If you will recall, it was in 1982 that the PC took home that honor!  And last year, it was you and I that was person of the year . . . . .  Making PC's and every day people "person" of the year kind of makes Time's vote on this mean very little, does it not?  So lets see, Time has already bestowed "Invention of the year" and "Gadget of the year" to the iPhone!  I personally think this is ignorant, and once again shows me the power of HYPE.  Because the iPhone was so beautifully hyped, there are many out there who think that the iPhone is the second coming of Apple.  Did it deserve attention?  You betcha!  Did it deserve the attention it has received?  NO WAY! It is better in some ways, but lacking in others! So some are specualting that the iPhone will be "Person of the year for 2007".  I can only say, I hope Time is smarter than that!  There are many more deserving and are actually "People".  So I decided to maybe post up a list of my own who I think might be worthy of Time's Honor:

• The Military in Iraq and Abroad- Yea, this war is very unpopular, yet it is the Military men and women who are doing an awesome job in spite of the fact that the US Government is worthless
• Al Gore- I don't even agree with half of what he says about Global Warming and didn't vote for him either, by the way, but I do admire him for fighting the fight!
• The GPS!  Heck if a PC can Garner the award and the iPhone can be in the running, my vote would go to my Tom-Tom!  I don't know how I ever got by without it!  And they are to the point that anyone can afford one!
• Pick and Astronaut!  These guys go through more training and take more tests just for the chance!  Jilted Lovers aside, these guys are still heros
• Any Professional Athelete not tied to Steriods
• This year's Teacher of the year
• The Volunteer Security Guard at the Colorado Springs Church when the mad-man Gunman showed up this past Sunday
• Any Nurse that has been on the job for more than fifteen years
• Any Doctor that has saved lives of loved ones and doesn't own 12 cars and 6 homes because of it!
