Word Circuilating on the net, is that the internal code name for Palm's next generation OS is Nova. The current release schedule being discussed by Palm management is to announce and get Nova out to developers in some form later this calendar year. Reports from inside the company is that Nova is presently being demoed and tested internally on an unreleased future Palm device code-named Zeppelin.Statements indicate that Palm will be making some partner and developer announcements around Nova later in 2008. The earliest estimates for when it will actually ship on new Palm hardware is currently February 2009.

Thats right Boys and Girls!  YouTube has re-worked their mobile site and now videos play within the Palm OS!  No special software to install or anything like that!  Just head over to http://m.youtube.com and click on something, give it a chance to buffer and enjoy!  I can't believe it!  When I saw the news, I figured it meant that it would work with some mobiles.  Certainly not Palm OS mobiles since Java is required and and we all know how much Blazier supports Java! But it launched Kinoma player and the next thing I know, I am watching Video streamed to my Palm!  Tell the World!  Shout it from the mountain tops! I have watched three videos now . .  One did time out, but I relaunched it and it worked!

  • dcarico : I received this email Sunday from Dennis at GiiNii. Look for a review soon of this new digital player.
  • dcarico : The shomi digital player continues to drive people to this site. People really seem to struggle with this very affordable player but almost worthless manual. They should pay me for being their support desk :)
  • captbunzo : The centro is cheap and easy to use. It is the perfect palm phone nowaday...

Me

I am a middle aged guy who finds much pleasure in today's technology.  Once upon a time I kept a blog about mobile tech, a web site that featured my bike rides, and then a personal site where I shared photos and videos, basically of Family.  After a time, I decided it made much more sense to combine all those sites into one.  But what to call it?  Well, not very creatively, this site became "just duke".  Just stuff I am interested in and try to follow.

By day I work for a large chemical company, and by night I play bass in a Christian Rock band. But every day I check out the web sites following the trends around mobile devices.  When I have time, I enjoy designing Templates for Joomla and Wordpress. You can download those here on this site!
