Many might wonder how I can focus on the Burgman here since it says that it is Mobile Technology and news in my subtitle above. Well, we all know what gas is like and the Burgman gets very incredible gas mileage as well as being very technically advanced! I am figuring that many will be turning to fossil fuel alternatives and scooters get excellent milage and have come a long way since the 70's and 80's. But make no mistake! They are loads of fun also. I decided in the spring that with gas prices on their way up it was time to look at something to help me to get around and sip a little gas. I would say that was a good move, wouldn't you?? Well, I am learning that people who buy this particular model seem to be very proud of them! I am no exception! Steve lives about 30 miles away and we crossed paths on a forum for Burgman riders. We have been talking about hooking up for weeks but today was the first chance our schedules allowed. He was coming my way to get the oil changed, so we decided we would head out afterwards. Our first stop was at Ridgewood Barbeque! In the 80's, this was voted one of the top 10 Restaurant's in the USA! This gave me a chance to get to know Steve! Steve is a very great guy! Hey, anyone who likes good barbeque and rides a Burgman, I already like! But I think we share a lot of the same views around big motorcycles, Touring, and life in general! After the meal, we headed out 19E toward Roan Mountain. We hooked a left on NC 194 and rode into Banner Elk, North Carolina. As soon as we got into town we passed a white Burgman 650 headed in the other direction. I said "HEY" and he yelled back, "Hey, another Burgman"!!!!! Since we got such a late start and it was getting late in the afternoon, we decided to enjoy a cold drink and then head back. But we plotted another ride or two for the future! I was too busy riding to take a lot of photos, but below are a just a few more of our prized rides!
