Today was do nothing day.  Eric's last full day before he leaves for Iraq.  The fun starts tomorrow at about 6:00PM.  He closes out his room, reports for line up, gets his weapons issued, packs them, and then they gather at a gym and wait for the planes to get ready.  We are guessing that he will board the bus at around 9:00PM for the trip to the airport. So today we just laid around and watched TV.  Lunch was Burger King and supper was "On the border".  A Mexican place and the Ultimate Fihitas were just that.  Lets see: Pork, Shrimp, Chicken, and beef along with peppers, onions beans, and rice!  They rocked! 

When we came back to the room, we grabbed Eric's laptop, and set out to call Jane Ann on Skype.  We had a really nice chat and covered a lot of ground.

Tomorrow is not going to be fun . . . I am sure that the morning will start slow and by the afternoon, reality will set in.  I will have my cameras with me and will try to get a little bit of the departure and what it is like . .  By the way, Eric just shaved his head!  At this very moment, he is balder than his old man!  Yea, I will see about getting a shot or two of that also . . .

News Briefs

Sometime back, I tried to pull together all the active Palm Treo's and build my own specsheet.  I used this sheet to note differences between the Palm Devices.  At the time, you couldn't do that from Palm's own site.  So I used a combination of their US site and their European site to figure out the differences between Treos.  Since new units have come along, I will try to update this list soon.  But I have noticed, its still a very popular item on my site when I look at my stats.  Here is a link to it!

I am a middle aged guy who finds much pleasure in today's technology.  Once upon a time I kept a blog about mobile tech, a web site that featured my bike rides, and then a personal site where I shared photos and videos, basically of Family.  After a time, I decided it made much more sense to combine all those sites into one.  But what to call it?  Well, not very creatively, this site became "just duke".  Just stuff I am interested in and try to follow. 

By day I work for a large chemical company, and by night I play bass in a Christian Rock band. But every day I check out the web sites following the trends around mobile devices.  When I have time, I enjoy designing Templates for Joomla and Wordpress. You can download those here on this site!
