So after waking up early this morning, I finally fell back asleep. But about 7:30, Eric got a phone call. One of his men had disobeyed orders and he had to go in and deal with him . . . . So I got up and wondered across the street to a Carl's Jr. After a breakfast sandwich, I set out on a quest to find a car charger for my Treo. I couldn't find the one I had before I left and planned on buying one when I got out here. Beside the Carl's Jr, was a place that sold mobile accessories. They had about every charger for every brand except for the Treo. Across the street was a rather large shopping complex, so I headed there. I found an AT&T store. They had what I needed kind of . . I was going to buy a "go" charger and then the adapter for the Treo. I decided to keep looking, but knew of a spot if I had no luck. On to the Office Max, where I found pay dirt. I grabbed it and headed back to the hotel. After a time, Eric came back and informed me that they put the problem soldier in jail. He will remain there until they leave Saturday. Which by the way, is a little sooner than we thought. We were believing it was sometime Sunday, but now it looks like it will be more Saturday night around 9:00PM. Anyway, we headed up to the dealership to get his car serviced. I am glad we did! They found a nail in one tire and removed and patched it! I would have much rather they found it as to let me find it somewhere in Kansas! While we were getting the car serviced, we walked down to a Walmart and I found a pretty cool little video camera for Eric's Laptop. We grabbed lunch at this upscale burger joint called Red Robin. A nice place and I actually recognized a picture on the wall as one that hangs in our Kitchen, of a girl kissing a boy. We came back and I installed the driver for Eric's web cam. I then carried the laptop down to an area that had internet access, and downloaded Skype. I sent his mother a text message letting her know that we had skpe up and running on Eric's computer if she would like to call us. In about 5 minutes we were video chatting with his mom. I am pleased, as I think it pleased her. About 6:00, we headed to a small cafe style sandwich shop and I downed a french dip sandwich. Eric enjoyed a Cajun Turkey with Alvacado. We had planned on watching the Cowboys and the Packers, but alas, its not on any of the channels we get. So we are watching HBO and pretty much channel surfing . . . Here are some highlights of today in pictures.

"There might be a world of iPhone hype out there, but if there's anything Microsoft knows how to do, it's fight back with sheer brutal volume -- and it looks like the WinMo juggernaut is just getting warmed up, with sales of 14.3m units worldwide in the past six months. Microsoft says the strong performance is based on sales of over a million BlackJacks and over two million HTC Touch phones, and that it expects to hit 20m WinMo phones sold by June. That's an awful lot of phones -- and with even hotter models on the way, so don't expect to see these numbers slow down anytime soon." Thanks Engadget! |

About Me |
|
I am a middle aged guy who finds much pleasure in today's technology. Once upon a time I kept a blog about mobile tech, a web site that featured my bike rides, and then a personal site where I shared photos and videos, basically of Family. After a time, I decided it made much more sense to combine all those sites into one. But what to call it? Well, not very creatively, this site became "just duke". Just stuff I am interested in and try to follow. By day I work for a large chemical company, and by night I play bass in a Christian Rock band. But every day I check out the web sites following the trends around mobile devices. When I have time, I enjoy designing Templates for Joomla and Wordpress. You can download those here on this site! Just click on "Just Templates on the left. |
