Digg!
For days I have watched the news channels cover Heath Ledger's death as if it were a World Leader's passing. Now I am not saying that it isn't tragic. Certainly it is! But as someone with a son in Iraq, I am also certain that it is no more tragic than anyone who dies serving America in the middle east. Come on news channels! Is this Hollywood heart-throb worth 24 hour coverage while the men and women in service aren't worth a mention? And even though we all know the surge is working, people are still dieing. And good news is still news-worthy. How about some stories about the good in the war on terror? And how about some coverage of the struggles yet to overcome? I really don't care that the maid called Ashley before she called 911. I hate that he died but I hate even more how you are turning him into a fallen hero. He is not worthy. Please focus your efforts on the ones that are! Posted via a Palm Treo 680

I agree

As much as it is tragic that he died, I do agree that the media nowadays tend to focus way too much on celebrity news. They seem to have become Inside Edition nowadays or other similar celebrity news programs. I guess the other news is too depressing or disturbing or doesn't seem to get enough ratings or attention that they seem to go for the sensationalism journalism.

Actually, I am finding that a lot of news are now going that way and it's very annoying. I just want the news and not some sensationalistic editorial.

I have to admit that I haven't really gotten into what's on TV nowadays or kept up with who's who in Hollywood or movies. All the sfx has really ticked me off from movies. But I guess I'm just a grumpy old person who doesn't get into the current stuff anymore.
